A Big Thank You to our Long-serving Board Members
We’re saying a big thank you and farewell to our loyal and long-serving Board members, Councillors Malcolm Wood and Brian Grocock.
The Councillors were each presented with an engraved glass clock as a thank you for over 20 years of service on the Board of the National Ice Centre.
They will both be retiring at the May Council elections, and therefore will be leaving the NIC’s Board.
The presentation took place at the popular Nottingham venue on Wednesday 13 March 2019, following the Councillors’ last Board meeting, with chief executive Martin Ingham and chairman Mich Stevenson leading the proceedings.
Speaking after the event, Councillor Malcolm Wood said: “As someone who has been associated with the NIC since its inception, I am proud to have seen the positive impact it has made to the city’s economy.
“It has not only provided first class ice facilities for skaters, but Motorpoint Arena Nottingham has provided a valuable platform for the music industry. I have no doubt that the NIC will go from success to success and I wish it well for the future.”
Councillor Brian Grocock added: “It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to serve on the NIC Board since the building and opening of one of this city’s major entertainment venues. Hundreds of thousands of people have passed through the doors of the NIC over those 20 plus years.”
