Team Icicles Senior Heading to ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships
We’re very excited to announce that Team Icicles Senior will be heading to compete in the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in Lake Placid from 27 March!
The team of 19 skaters train right here at the National Ice Centre and we can’t wait to see how they get on. The team were selected to compete at the World Championships in 2020 but this was cancelled due to the pandemic so the squad are very excited to have the opportunity to skate again this year.
Emily Potter said: “Because we were supposed to go to the World Championships at Lake Placid in 2020, which was obviously cancelled due to lockdown, it feels like we’re getting a second shot to represent our country.”
The team are now fundraising to help pay for the trip as the sport does not attract funding in the UK so any donations are appreciated by the team. You can find out more about how you can support the team on their Instagram page here.
Good luck to all involved!
