
Spin, Spiral, Jump Competition
Spin, Spiral, Jump Competition is a fun competition event open to skaters from Skate UK levels up to BIS National 5 level. Whether you have just mastered the basics of ice skating, or are on your competitive journey, there is a category for you at our Spin, Spiral, Jump competition. It is a great opportunity to showcase your skating skills and enhance confidence in a supportive and friendly environment.
Date: Sunday 1st of June 2025 – 4.45pm – 6.45pm
Where: National Ice Centre, CCM Rink
Open to: Skaters of all levels
Entry fee: £18 or £9 for National Ice Centre customers with a membership for Ice Cubs, Skating Skills, Adult Skills Class.

Category Standard Criteria Elements
Skate UK 1-3 Skate UK Level 1-3 Skaters must not have passed Skate UK Level 4 – 2-Foot Jump or Bunny Hop
– 2-Foot turn or 2-foot spin
– Little Man or 1 foot glide
Skate UK 4-6 Skate UK Level 4-6 Skaters must not have passed Skate UK Level 8 – 2-foot jump or waltz jump
– 2-foot turn or 1 foot 3 turn
– Forward Spiral or Drag
Skate UK 7-8 Skate UK Level 7-8 Skaters must not have passed Skate UK Level 8 – Waltz jump
– 1 foot or 2-foot spin
– Bunny hop into drag
Skate UK Bronze -Platinum Skate UK Level Bronze – Platinum Skaters must not have passed BIS National 1 TES Test – Any single jump excluding lutz
– Any 1-foot spin in 1 position
– Any Spiral
BIS Beginner – National 3 BIS Beginner level to National 3 Skaters must not have passed BIS National 4 TES Test – Single Jump (excluding Axel)
– Basic Position Spin
– Forward or Backward Basic Spiral
BIS National 4-5 BIS National 4-5 Skaters must not have passed BIS National 6 TES Test – Single Jump (including Axel)
– Combination Spin
– Any Variation of Spiral
Adult 1 Pre-bronze – Bronze Skaters must not compete higher than Adult Bronze – Single jump or a combination jump (excluding axel)
– 1 position spin with or without change of foot
– Spiral or drag / slide
Adult 2 Silver Skaters must not compete higher than Adult Silver Novice – 2 jump combination
– Combination spin
– Assisted hold spiral
Adult 3 Gold and Above Adults must compete in Adult Gold and above – Double jump
– Combination spin
– Assisted hold spiral
General Rules and Clarification
– Age refers to skater’s age on date of competition
– Quality of execution of the elements will contribute the most towards the overall score
– SPIRAL type of elements: credit will be given for spirals or choreographic features held for more than 3 seconds
– SPIN elements: all spin positions should be held for 3 revolutions
– JUMP elements: credit will be given for more difficult and fully rotated jumps; however overall quality of execution wins over difficulty of jump
– Quality and creativity of transitions between elements will contribute towards additional credit and overall score
